L&A

Please continue to keep my Aunt Liz and cousin Audrey in your prayers. We helped move them out of their house and into an apartment today, and as my Aunt Liz put it, none of this feels right. We never would have imagined that we would be in this situation, but please say a prayer that things will start feeling somewhat "normal" soon.
I love this picture of L&A at our wedding reception. They both look so incredibly happy and beautiful...

The little things.

It's the little things in life that make me the happiest.

I realized this morning that I didn't have any clean jeans except for a pair that was in the very back of the closet. They were back there because they hadn't really fit very well in the last few years (I think that I bought them in high school), but I had kept them in hopes that they would one day be comfortable again. I never wear them, but because I was left with no other option, I tried them on.....and THEY FIT! Actually, they fit better than most of the jeans that I wear these days. Talk about exciting.

Today after work, I went by World Market, and they had their wooden folding chairs on sale for $15 each. Ben and I had recently talked about buying a folding table and chairs, but we just really didn't want to spend money on ugly metal/steel furniture that we would rarely use. However, since these wooden chairs were much cuter (and cheaper!) than the standard folding chair, I decided to buy 4 of them. I got up to the register, and while I was waiting in line, I noticed that the girl in front of me had coupons. I politely asked her where she got them, and she told me that both she and her mom had received them in the mail but that they were only going to use one. She asked me if I would like her other one (obviously she doesn't know me!), and I gladly accepted. $20 off a $50 purchase. So, I got 4 really cute wooden folding chairs for $43.30. That's less than $11 per chair. Pretty good if you ask me.

Calling all dog owners.....

If you have a dog, you definitely need to head over to this website and sign up for Halo's free email newsletter. To thank you for signing up, they will email you a $5 off coupon, which you can then spend at Petco or any other store that carries the brand. (Sidenote: Petsmart doesn't carry the Halo brand.) I got the 8 oz. bag of "Liv-a-Littles Healthsome Dog Biscuits", which regularly sell for $5.99, for only $1.07 (including tax). We'd never tried them, but it turns out that Annie & Amos LOVE them. Shocking, I know.

We miss you, Cody.

Please keep my family in your prayers as my cousin Cody has passed away very unexpectedly. On Saturday, August 22nd, Cody's girlfriend took his life and then her own. It doesn't seem fair that this would happen after everything that he has been through over the past 9 months. After his accident, he came so close to death, remained in a coma for 2 months, and then had to re-learn everything. He had worked so hard over the past 9 months, and he had come so far. He was in the process of learning to walk again and was supposed to return to school this year as a senior. I can't even begin to describe how sad I am or how much I will miss him, but I am very appreciative that I was able to spend so much time with Cody after his accident. During the past 9 months, I was able to show Cody just how much I loved him and how proud I was of him, and for that, I am so grateful.
