This Past Weekend

Spring is definitely one of my favorite times of the year.  The weather is a great, there's so many fun things going on, and I can already tell that this year is going to be no different.

On Saturday evening, we went to Chris and Grace's wedding.  I first met Chris when I was the intern 5 years ago and was fortunate to be able to work with him again the first two years that I was back in Austin.  He was (and always will be!) such a wonderful teacher, mentor, and friend, and Grace is just as wonderful as she is beautiful, which is obviously saying a lot.

The ceremony was in a beautiful chapel at Riverbend Church, and the reception was at the Duchman Family Winery (which used be called the Mandola Estate Winery) in Driftwood.  The food was delicious, the band was awesome, and we had a great time hanging out with my co-workers and friends.
Stephanie, Paul, Kathy, and John...
Joe, Peter, and Melissa...
Congrats again, Chris and Grace!  Thanks again for including us in your special day.  We're so happy for you!

On Sunday morning, I woke up early to run the Cap 10K with Molly.  This was a first for me, and although I wasn't exactly thrilled when my alarm went off that early on a Sunday morning, I had a blast!
The weather was perfect, the run was fun, and we did an awesome job!  We finished the 6.2-mile run in 58:42 and averaged a 9:27 pace per mile.  I really wasn't sure what to expect since Molly had a baby just 4 months ago and hasn't really been able to run as much now that she is a full-time mom to Charlie, but let me tell you -- she is quite the speedy little runner!  I was doing good to just keep up.
Ben came to cheer us on and take pictures.  Considering there were almost 23,000 runners, spectating and taking pictures definitely wasn't the easiest of tasks, and in his words, the whole event was a lot like "Where's Waldo?".

If you look really close, you can {some of} me and {little bit of} Molly in the pictures below.
And if you look even closer, you can see that the tiger paws made an appearance, too.
Thanks again for inviting me to run this with you, Molly.  I can't wait to run it with you and Charlie next year!

A break from the books...

I decided to take a break from studying tonight and met up with the running group for happy hour and dinner.  We decided to try out The Upper Decks on South Congress, and although the service was super slow, we had a great time.  The running ladies always have so much going on with work, family, recent vacations, and/or home remodels, and we had a great time catching up while consuming calories as opposed to burning them.  I have to admit though that the best part of the night was the fact that Ella was able to join us.  And thankfully she is just as easy as she is adorable and was perfectly content being passed around the table all night.
Unfortunately, the break is over as the studying will start back up again tomorrow morning, but it was fun while it lasted.  Only 2 more weeks.  Not that I'm counting or anything.

The Past 3 Weeks

So I just realized that I haven't blogged about anything in almost 3 weeks, but in my defense, I really haven't done much other than study, and I'm pretty sure none of you care to read about that. However, I did take a brief break today so that we could go to Round Rock for lunch with Ben's family and see Josh who is home from New York for the week. I also got to spend some time with sweet baby Charlie who is growing like a weed.
While uploading this picture, I found a couple of others that I took over the past couple of weeks and never posted, so for those of you who have been wondering what Ben does while I'm studying, he naps with Annie and Amos...
And does P90X yoga.
He also does almost all of the cooking, cleaning, and laundry, but what would be the fun in taking and posting pictures of that? Pictures of him spooning Annie and in the shoulder stand pose are way more entertaining. :)
