Blessed or Spoiled???

Although my birthday isn't for another couple of days, I have already received some pretty amazing gifts this year.

A couple of weeks ago, Ben's parents gave me an iPad.

Fan (a friend from grad school) sent me this awesome coffee mug along with one of the sweetest cards that I've ever read.

And this morning, Ralph (a friend at work) brought me some chocolate covered almonds as an early birthday present. Unfortunately though, I was too busy eating them to take a picture of them.

I also received a couple of souvenirs last night. Holly went on a cruise and brought me back a beautiful silver cross from Cozumel, and Ben's dad just back from visiting Josh in Spain, and he brought me back a beautifully painted ceramic cross.

Ben's dad also brought me back a ceramic piggy bank and a t-shirt.
For those of you who are as confused as I was when I saw the t-shirt, NO8DO is the official motto of Sevilla (the city where Josh is studying abroad). The motto combines the Spanish symbols ("No" and "Do"), and the figure between them is a piece of yarn, or in Spanish, "madeja". When read aloud, “No madeja do” sounds like “No me ha dejado,” which means “It [Sevilla] has not abandoned me.”

Thanks so much for my wonderful gifts. I really do feel so incredibly blessed to have such thoughtful friends and family. Ralph told me today that "blessed" is just a nice was of saying "spoiled", but personally, I prefer to think of it as blessed. Although, in reality, I'm probably both. :)

Happy Birthday, Lindsay! Wish you had a great time with family today. Sorry for unable to call you today since we were in Houston all day and I got back home about 10pm. It is too late to give you a call. I feel bad since I told you I would call you and say Happy Birthday but I missed it. I will give you a call tomorrow. Forgive me!
