There are spoiled dogs...

...and then there are our dogs. But the first step is admitting it, right?

This weekend, Ben and I decided to build a sandbox in the backyard. Yep, that's right -- a sandbox. But before you start thinking that we've completely lost it, we built the sandbox as a potential solution to Amos' digging problem. Amos has always been quite the digger -- even when he was just a puppy. We don't think that he's trying to dig out of the backyard but that he does it just for fun as his holes are randomly scattered throughout the backyard. We had always hoped that he would somehow "grow out" of this habit, but unfortunately, we have had no such luck. After doing a little research online, we decided that a sandbox was {hopefully} the solution to our problem. We first heard about the sandbox idea when my parents went to a party last summer where someone with a beautiful backyard had built a similar sandbox for their dog who digs. Apparently, this is somewhat of a common solution based on what we read online, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that it works for us.
And on a somewhat related side note, our neighbor Jason made the comment this weekend that we'd probably spend a lot less money if we had cable -- despite the monthly cable bill. I'm beginning to think that he might be right (and I'm sure that he loves hearing that), but then again, even when we did have cable, we hardly ever turned on the TV. However, I will admit that I watched TV all day on Saturday while Ben was working in Smithville. And because we don't have cable, my choices were cartoons, PBS, or The Masters, so needless to say, I watched/listened to about 8 hours of gardening and cooking shows on PBS while doing things around the house. Is it weird that I recognized the voice of a gardener that works at It's About Thyme (my favorite local nursery) who was a guest on "Central Texas Gardener"? Probably so, but then again, if I had cable, I probably wouldn't be able to make that awesome connection. ;)

They are definitely spoiled!!
TV cable is necessary for me. Sometimes I watched food, health, HGTV, TBS, CNN and etc. Without cable, TV becomes useless to me.
