Weekend of Studying & Prayers for Steph

I can't believe the weekend is over already. To say that my weekend was "go-go-go" might be an understatement, and unfortunately, I have a feeling that this is the way that it's going to be over the next 3 months -- until I take my licensing exam on April 8th.

Erin and I got together this weekend to study for the first time. We decided to go over the geotechnical portion of the exam, and although we learned (or should I say "relearned"?) a lot, here's what stood out the most.
  • College seems like it was just yesterday -- until it comes time to remember how to "calculate the vertical effective stress at midpoint in the sandy clay layer".
  • Gone are the days that I can study all day and then go out that night. Now I'm lucky to still be awake at 9:00 pm.
  • And last, but not least, learning about dirt is just as much fun the second time around as it is the first.

On a more serious note though, please keep my friend and co-worker Stephanie in your prayers. She went back into the hospital yesterday with stomach problems and will probably be there the next few days. Please pray that she gets plenty of rest while she is in the hospital and that her body will heal without having to have surgery. I went over to her house yesterday afternoon to watch Ella, who is not even 2 weeks old yet, so that Paul and Will could go up to the hospital to see Stephanie. She slept most of the time that I was there, but as you can see from her cute little smirk, we had a great time bonding.
