Taking It Easy...

This weekend we decided to take it easy.  So easy that I didn't take a single picture.  So hopefully you like text. ;)

After work on Friday, I went to the dermatologist to have a mole removed.  At this point, I've lost track of how many I've had removed, but I'm pretty sure this was #10.  The first comment that the doctor made after looking at my back was that my skin is very elastic.  She said that the good news is that I'll look young forever {that is good news...} but that the bad news is that I don't scar very well.  She told me to take it easy over the next few days in hopes that this scar would heal better than the others {the ones that my parents paid extra to have taken out by a plastic surgeon}, and when I asked how long I should wait to run, she said at least 2 weeks.  2 weeks?!?!  I realize that I'm not a doctor, but that seems a little excessive in my opinion.  11 stitches {4 on the inside and 7 on the outside} later, she sent me on my way.

Afterwards, I met up with Chris for lunch at Portabla on West 6th Street.  Unfortunately, there wasn't any seating inside, so our only option was to sit out on the front porch in the 100 degree heat.  It really wasn't too bad in the shade though {although I'm not sure how much my new incision appreciated the sweat}, and we had a great time catching up.  Before we knew it, two hours had passed, and it was time for him to get back to work.

That night, we went to see the Wheeler Brothers play at Angel's Icehouse out in Spicewood.  Originally, I wasn't really sure if I should spend anymore time outside in the Texas heat, but I also didn't want to miss out on any of the fun either {especially since this was their last concert before they go on tour}.  I ended up going under the condition that we would leave if I started feeling bad, and I'm so glad that I did.  The guys sounded great, the temperature was pretty perfect {for July in Texas anyway...}, and I had  a lot of fun seeing everybody.  Plus, I ran into Matt Scarborough {a friend from high school that I hadn't seen since graduation} and his fiancee, and I also met and got to know the C.O.O. for another engineering firm here in town, so that was pretty cool.

On Saturday, we woke up around noon and finally woke the dogs up a couple of hours later.  What can I say?  My family is just that talented.  As for the rest of the weekend, we pretty much just laid around the house.  We watched 5 movies, snacked all day, and drank way too much Dr. Pepper.  Our big outing for the weekend consisted of us driving to Chuy's at about 9 o'clock on Saturday night for dinner to use a "dinner for two" gift card that I had won at the WTS gala a few months back.  Apparently, "dinner for two" consists of an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert, so we had the appetizer plate {which includes of quesadillas, nachos, flautas, queso, and guacamole}, fajitas for two, and sopapillas, and we only had to pay for the gratuity.  Pretty good if you ask me.  Another highlight was getting to ride in our neighbor Dylan's new Lotus Elise.  0 to 60 in 4.9 seconds.  Talk about an adrenaline rush.  It was awesome!

We weren't completely worthless this weekend though.  We did vacuum, do two loads of a laundry, pull weeds, mow and weed eat the yard, and bathe the dogs.  All in all, it was a pretty good weekend though.  I followed my doctor's orders to take it easy, and I'm hoping that when she takes the stitches out this Friday that I will have a nice clean scar in the center of my back to prove it.
