Last Weekend

This past weekend was the first weekend since I took my exam that we didn't have something going on the entire weekend, and it was so nice.  I spent most of the weekend spending time with people that I haven't seen in awhile.

On Friday evening, we went over to Kevin and Molly's house for dinner.  I hadn't seen Molly since the 10K, and I hadn't seen Charlie since before that, so needless to say, our trip to Round Rock was long overdue.  I couldn't get over how much Charlie had grown since I last saw him.  He loves to stand in your lap now as opposed to sitting in it, and Kevin's funny voices and animal noises get him smiling like nothing else.  He loves taking a bath, and after he went to sleep for the night, we spent the rest of the evening on their back porch -- eating Pei Wei, catching up, laughing, and trying to not wake up the neighbors {or Charlie}.
On Saturday morning, I met up with the running group for a run and breakfast {the first time that I've run on the weekend in a VERY long time!}, and then Will came over to play.  We went the park in my neighborhood, and he absolutely loved it!  Apparently, it doesn't take much to entertain a 2 year old -- just two slides, bars to hang from, swings, and room to run around and scream/shriek.  We had a great time playing together and catching up.  We talked about his school, the house that they're building, Ella, Grandma, and while we were swinging together, we counted, said our ABC's, and even sang a few songs.  My favorite conversation was definitely this one though...
Lindsay: So Daddy went running today, huh?
    Will: Yeah.
Lindsay: Does anyone else in your family run?
    Will: Mom.
Lindsay: So who runs the fastest?
Will {turns to me with a huge grin on his face}: Me!!!

On Sunday evening, we had a belated birthday celebration at Red Lobster with my dad, Grandma, and Holly.  The snow crab {my favorite!} was delicious, and we had fun catching up.  Unfortunately, my Aunt Valerie couldn't make it, but she made a really cute cake for me ahead of time and even thought to pack candles for us.  Thankfully, everyone at the table gave me a "pass" and said that it was okay if we didn't light the candles and sing, but as soon as our waitress noticed the cake, she brought a group over to sing, and I no longer felt like I had any other option.  Several other people in the restaurant {mostly kids} sang along, too, and a lot of people clapped at the end.  Pretty embarrassing, but fun nonetheless.

It really was such a good weekend, and thankfully, the next one is just around the corner. :)
