About 7 couples ended up showing up, and we had a great time getting to know each other a little better over beer and all sorts of unhealthy food. Thankfully it was still cool enough to sit outside on the back patio, but I'm not sure how much longer that will last. I have a feeling that we only have a few more weekends of "Spring" before we start hitting the 100 degree temps.
On Saturday morning, I met up with my friend Heather to run on the trail alongside the Barton Creek Greenbelt.
It was so beautiful down here. Everything was so green, and there was so much water with all of the rain that we've had lately.
We had planned to run from one end of the green belt to the other, which is about 7 miles, but we ended up getting off the main trail a little bit and ended up running about 9. It wasn't too bad aside from the fact that I fell down at about mile 5. Stupid tree root. I didn't even see it until I had already tripped right over it, scraped up both of my knees, and was lying in the dirt.
After our trail run, I ran a few errands and then headed home to relax. Ben ended up having to work most of the day on Saturday, so when I got home I turned on the TV just as "Look Who's Talking" came on. I absolutely loved that movie when I was little {and I'm pretty sure I haven't seen it since I was little}, so I had a great time watching that. That night, we decided to just take it easy. Ben made spaghetti for dinner, and we watched a movie and then ended up crashing early.
On Sunday, we got up early and went to Sunday School and church. Afterwards, we went to Plucker's for lunch and then came home to take it easy. That night, we went to Grandma's house to have dinner with her, Holly, Nelson, my dad, and Patty.
All in all, it was a pretty good weekend -- aside from the scraped up knees, of course. Although being waited on hand and foot all weekend was pretty nice. I might just need to fall down more often. ;)
