Jackson Davis Liggett, I baptize you in the name of the Father...
...and of the Son...
...and of the Holy Spirit.
Jackson did so great the entire time that we were up front. I could tell by the look on his face that he wasn't really a fan of being held down while we prayed over him, but other than that, he had a great time. He made friends with another little boy who was being baptized...
...and he absolutely loved the candle that he received as a symbol of his baptism.
The service was especially meaningful to me since the pastors who baptized Jackson {Barbara Ruth and John Wright} were the pastors at my childhood church from the time that I was in 6th grade till I left for college.
Standing up in front of the church and making the commitment to raise Jackson so that he knows the Lord was so incredibly special. It literally brought tears to my eyes.
We invited all of our family and a few close friends to join us at the service, and it meant so much to us that they took time out of their day to be there and show their support of us raising Jackson as a Christian.
After the service, we invited everyone over to Ben's parents' house for lunch and to swim. We had burgers, fried chicken, lots of salads, fruit, cheese potatoes, and cake/cupcakes for dessert, and including family, friends, and our Sunday School class, we ended up having about 50 people there. Obviously, our little boy is very loved! Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of our guests, but we did get a couple of the guest of honor with the cake that my mom made.
He was so distracted and hot though, so he really wasn't into taking pictures. I ended up putting his baptismal outfit back on him this afternoon just to snap a few pictures, and I'm so glad I did.
Jackson Davis -- I hope you always know how much Jesus loves you and how much we love you, too!
