34 weeks down, 6 weeks to go!

As of today, I am now 34 weeks pregnant.
According to Baby Center, our baby now weighs 4.75 pounds and is about 18 inches long -- the size of a cantaloupe.
Things are still going pretty good, but I can definitely tell that I'm in the homestretch now.  This baby just keeps getting bigger, and I am quickly running out of room!  He is constantly moving, too -- I literally feel some type of movement at least every 10 minutes, and I'm not even exaggerating.  He's still situated pretty high up in my rib cage -- with his feet pressing into my right ribs and his little bottom pressing into my left.  His head is down low though, which is where I am able to feel the hiccups that he gets at least once a day.  The other day, both he and Ben had them at the same time, which was pretty funny.  In other news, my feet/ankles started swelling this week, so that's been a bummer.  Today at work, I sent the following picture to Ben and Holly with a text that said "So long skinny ankles."
Granted, the angle of the picture makes my leg look much bigger than it really is {for those of you who don't know how bird-like my legs actually are, scroll down to see the picture of me with my mom and Holly below}, but you can definitely see the puffiness around my ankle.  My sweet and supportive husband replied back, "Gross.  Put some socks on."  Haha. :)  Holly suggested that I put my feet up on my desk, and when I mentioned that I didn't think that I would be able to do that and work on the computer at the same time, she sent me the following picture just to prove that, in fact, it is possible.
Haha -- I love both her and this cute picture, but apparently, she forgot about my huge belly.  At this point in my pregnancy, that particular position is definitely not an option, but thankfully, one of my co-workers was able to find a stool for me to put under my desk.

Today was also a big day in that we finally decided on a pediatrician and went to our 34-week appointment.  Today's interview was with our third and final pediatrician {we interviewed one last week and another one yesterday}, and we ended up liking this doctor the best out of everyone.  He was recommended to us by a couple in our Sunday School class.  I really liked everything that I read about the practice online, so when we got there and saw how laid-back and easy-going he was and how well our personalities meshed with his, we knew he was the "one". ;)  Check "find pediatrician" off of the to-do list -- yay!  Everything at our 34-week appointment went great, too.
They didn't do a whole lot at this appointment, but we were excited to get an impromptu sonogram.  While listening to his heartbeat, the nurse asked if he moved around much, and when I told her that he did all the time and that I'm pretty sure that I know the position that he's in based on all of those movements, she said that we could turn on the sonogram machine for a quick look.  She didn't spend a whole lot of time looking at his various features, but she did confirm that his feet are in my right ribs, that his bottom is in my left ribs, and that his head is low.  She moved the wand around pretty fast, but Ben and I were both able to see the flicker of his heart, and I was able to make out his curled up legs.  Thankfully, at our next appointment, we'll get to see a more in-depth sonogram since they plan to do a growth-scan at that appointment and approximate his weight.  Only two more weeks, and we'll get to see a picture of his sweet face {and everything else}.  I can't wait!!!  Stay tuned. :)
