As of this past Sunday, I am now 36 weeks pregnant.
According to The Bump, our baby now weighs 4.2 to 5.8 pounds and is about 17.2 to 18.7 inches long -- the size of a honeydew.
I went to the doctor on Wednesday, and everything still looks great. Our first appointment was with the sonographer, and she spent quite a bit of time measuring all of his little body parts. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get any good pictures {mostly because he is so smashed in there and had his little fist in front of his face}, but we did find out that both his head and his femur are measuring 3 weeks ahead in size {yikes!}, and she estimated his current weight to be 7 pounds 9 ounces. Just a little different than The Bump's estimate of 4.2 to 5.8 pounds. Apparently, I'm having a giant! And if that didn't make me nervous enough, we also found out at our appointment with the doctor that I am already 2 centimeters dilated and that the baby is already really low. The doctor suggested that we get a bag packed -- just in case, and before we left his office, the nurse went over the early signs of labor. You should have seen the look on Ben's face. Nervous doesn't even begin to describe it -- haha.
So I guess there's a chance we could be meeting this baby a little early {although there's still a chance I could go all the way to or past my due date}. I'm not gonna lie -- the whole idea makes me a little nervous, too. I'm not quite ready to have this baby yet, but hopefully I'll be a little more ready after this weekend. So much to do, so little time, and needless to say, this weekend's honey-do list is going to be a long one. ;)
