The Past Few Days

This past weekend, my dad and Patty were in town, so Saturday night, we all went to dinner at Fonda San Miguel.  We tried to time the reservations to be right after Jackson ate so that he would sleep, but unfortunately, he woke up right before they brought out our dinner and started screaming.  Ben scarfed down his enchiladas in record time and then spent the rest of the evening trying to keep the little guy happy.  Needless to say, going out to eat is not nearly as simple as it used to be. ;)
After dinner, everybody came back over to our house to love on Jackson.  He mostly slept...
...but woke up just in time to say "bye" to everyone.
He has officially mastered the pouty face.
I knew it was bedtime when I got out of the shower, and all of my babies were asleep.

On Sunday, we decided to skip church and sleep in since I still wasn't feeling 100%.  We spent the day just hanging out around the house and playing with Jackson.
Kyle came by to see us...
...and so did Cheryl and Avery.
Sitting at the dinner table like a big kid.
Is it just me or are they making the EXACT same expressions?
Seriously...
...it's almost scary how much they look alike!
No wonder bathtime is more fun with dad than with mom!
We didn't have any big plans for Monday, so we hung out in our PJs for awhile.
I did the 30 Day Shred {my first workout since Jackson was born} and quickly realized that I'm in the worst shape that I've ever been in.  Seriously, I was winded after doing just the warm up!
Jackson supervised. ;)
On Tuesday, we took Jackson to his 2-month well-check appointment.
We found out that he is in the 50th percentile for both height and head circumference and is in the 90th percentile for weight.  He is such a big boy, and we are so thankful that he is so healthy!
We also talked to his pediatrician about his fussiness, and based on his symptoms, he agreed that it was probably reflux and wrote a prescription for Baby Zantac.
Unfortunately, Jackson also had to get some shots while he was there, but thankfully, the nurse was really fast.  He started screaming as soon as she stuck him in the thigh, but she was done just a few seconds after she started, and he calmed down as soon as I picked him back up.
Such a tough little boy.
I invited my mom to come over and spend the day with us since I had read online that most babies are fussy after their shots.  He was in such a good mood when she got there though that we ended up running a few errands and even picked up Schlotzsky's for lunch.  When we got home, he ate and then fell asleep.
Unfortunately, the fussiness started as soon as my mom left though.  The only way that I could get him to calm down was to rock him, so we spend the rest of the late afternoon rocking in his room with the lights off.
Look at that tummy!
A very serious burrito boy all ready to go down for the night.
Thankfully, Jackson woke up in a much better mood this morning.
I'm not sure if it's too early to say this, but since starting the reflux medicine, Jackson is seriously like a whole new baby.  He's only had two doses, but so far, I'm loving it!
We hung out at home for awhile...
...and did really fun things like stare at the ceiling fan. ;)
This afternoon, we went to Target to see about getting some grape flavor added to Jackson's reflux medicine.  Apparently all Zantac products are peppermint flavored, and unfortunately, Jackson hates it.  He spits almost all of it out when I try giving it to him in the syringe, and when I try to give it to him in a bottle nipple, he pushes it back out with his tongue.  He may only be 2 months old, but he's certainly no dummy, so hopefully the grape flavor will help.
While we waited for his prescription, I did a little shopping and even treated myself to a Starbucks drink.  Actually, I guess you could say that my mom treated me since I used up the rest of the gift card that she gave me for Christmas ;)
It's not Starbucks, but Jackson got to have his own special drink when we got home. ;)
Now we're just hanging out and waiting for dad to get home.  Jackson is sleeping in his front pouch and sucking on the back of his hand...
...and I'm just playing around on the computer and wondering how in the world he got such long eyelashes.
Happy Wednesday!  I hope your day has been as great as mine. :)
