Halloween Competitions

We had both a pumpkin carving contest and a costume contest at work today.

I wore the poodle skirt that my mom made me in high school and went as a 50's girl.
And our transportation group chose a Texas Rangers theme for our pumpkin.
Unfortunately, I/we didn't win either competition, but I did get a lot of compliments on my skirt, and I thought our pumpkin turned out really cute, so the day wasn't a total loss. Plus, a lot of my co-workers' kids came up to the office to trick-or-treat, and we got to eat a lot of candy and other homemade goodies, so that was pretty fun, too.

And on a side note -- I apologize for the lack of blog updates. I've been pretty busy the past couple of weeks putting together my application for my licensing exam, contacting all of the volunteers about the upcoming Special Olympics bowling competition, and coordinating the scholarship effort for the professional organization that I'm a member of (apparently I have a problem saying "no"...). Unfortunately, that means that things like cleaning, couponing, and blogging kinda fall by the wayside, but hopefully things will get back to normal soon.

I love your costume. (Am I spelling it right?)
Good luck with your PE exam! That should be the one you mentioned there.
